Neda
Licheva
Neda Licheva is a third-generation ceramic artist from Troyan, Bulgaria—one of the country's most respected centers for traditional pottery. She graduated from the National School of Applied Arts “Prof. Venko Kolev” in Troyan and later earned her degree in ceramics from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, where she studied under leading Bulgarian ceramicists.
Her artistic practice blends tradition with innovation, spanning wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics, glass painting, and art photography.
Neda’s style is known for its expressive surfaces, delicate color palettes, and a strong sense of materiality rooted in Troyan’s heritage.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions and residencies in Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, and Israel, and her work has been shown both in solo and group shows. In 2024, she held her solo exhibition “Jazzy” at the National Exhibition of Arts and Crafts in Oreshak.
Alongside her studio work, Neda is committed to cultural exchange and education. She regularly teaches workshops and courses, including free ceramics classes at her former school, and has represented Bulgarian ceramics at international forums and cultural festivals.
