He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in his hometown and spent many years working as a designer at the “Art” ceramic factory, one of the cornerstones of Troyan’s ceramic tradition. In 1997, Roumen founded his own studio – Natural Art Studio – a modern artisan workshop located in the heart of the Balkan Mountains. The studio specializes in handcrafted contemporary ceramics, blending the classic Troyan style with innovative design and a personal creative approach. In addition to original ceramic pieces, the studio offers beginner courses in pottery, including work on the wheel and hand-building techniques.
Roumen Georgiev has been awarded the honorary title of “Troyan Master” twice, in 2012 and 2023, in recognition of his contribution to preserving and evolving local ceramic traditions.
