Svetlana Yakova is a contemporary artist born in 1978 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated from the National School of Fine Arts “Ilia Petrov” in Sofia in 1997 with a degree in “Graphics,” and then from the New Bulgarian University “Graphic Design and Visual Communication”.

She works mainly in the genres of graphics and painting but also has experience in icon painting using classical techniques. Part of her professional path in the field of visual arts is graphic design. She has practical experience in video graphics, technical graphics, logo design, etc. She uses mixed techniques and materials – oil, acrylic, oil stick, pastel, ink on canvas, and paper. Characteristic of her style are the dynamic compositions, the saturated colours and the mixture of abstract expressionism and naive.Svetlana’s art studio is located in Sofia, where she paints and exhibits her works.
