This is not a food blog.
It’s also not a travel blog.
This is us bragging about Limnos.
Yes, we’re Bulgarian. No, we’re not locals. But after spending enough summers here to uncover the best hidden corners, meet the warmest people, and sink our toes into the most beautiful beaches, we’ve started calling Limnos our second home. And as many of you probably know sometimes the second home becomes YOUR home.
It all started a few years ago, when Lora and her family set foot on Limnos for the very first time. Something sparked. It was more than just the sunsets or the island’s laid-back rhythm. Limnos offered a sense of belonging a new chapter. And with that chapter came an idea: what if we brought a piece of Bulgaria here, to share with all the people who fall in love with Limnos every summer?
Lora, a passionate windsurfer and a seeker of beauty in all its forms, felt instantly connected to the island. The wind, the waves, the freedom of the sea - Limnos spoke her language. So did the growing Bulgarian community, made up of thrill-seekers, artists, and sun-chasers, who welcomed her with open arms.
Fast forward to August 2024: after a year of paperwork, building permits, design sketches, and more than a few construction headaches, Lillu Artisanal Creations opened its doors in the heart of Myrina. A space built with love, hard work, and the help of local experts, the gallery showcases carefully selected Bulgarian handmade art and crafts—each piece chosen by Lora over the course of a year-long search.
While Lora was busy setting up the gallery in Limnos, Irina - her longtime friend and a Bulgarian artist based in Bansko was ready for something new. Coming from seven generations of Orthodox icon painters, Irina has deep roots in tradition. But like some of her more rebellious ancestors, she adds her own twist, blending sacred themes with bold colors, modern symbols, and a fresh perspective.
After years of creating in the mountains, she was craving new inspiration and connection. Making art is personal, but being an artist without community? Nearly impossible. So when Lora suggested teaming up to bring Bulgarian art to Limnos, it felt like the right idea at the right time, a shared vision and something meaningful to build together.

So why this blog?
Because in between setting up a gallery and chasing the perfect wind conditions, we’ve eaten very well. We’ve stumbled across places we can’t shut up about. The kind of local gems that might never make it into flashy guides but will steal your heart and water your mouth. And now, we want to share them with you.
This blog isn’t here to tell you where everyone goes. It’s about where we go. What we’ve discovered is a revolutionary Greek cuisine. It's bold but respectful, inventive yet rooted in tradition. And it’s delicious.
So, while we’ll talk about our favorite places to eat, this isn’t just a list of restaurants. It’s about the people behind the plates. The lives behind the flavors. And the connections that turn a good meal into an unforgettable experience.
We’re not here to write guides.
We’re here to share stories.
